Naturally skinny women often feel ignored and disregarded, as the majority is concerned (and rather obsessed!) with losing weight rather than gaining. Who wants to hear about a skinny woman’s needs to gain weight, it simply sounds needy.
Whilst western lifestyles do not favor healthy habits, the media endorse rather unrealistically slender body types. Amidst all these, are those women naturally skinny who possess widely enviable figures, yet strive to gain weight—it’s a funny world indeed.
Skinny women often face a series of health problems due to their (skinny) genes. Admittedly, for any thin person trying to gain weight, the process can be challenging; a stubborn metabolism, no appetite, feeling disgusted by stuffing oneself with too much than usual, food etc.

Reproductive issues
Being thin is agreeable in terms of appearance, however, it can lead to a number of health issues, such as low fertility.
Sad as it might sound, overweight women have better chances of receiving, than a skinny woman. And not just that, thin women have a higher risk of getting a heart disease and diabetes 2. This should however not discourage you, on the contrary, it should be your guiding force towards weight gain.
Emotional Issues
Whilst being skinny generates the admiration of women- who are (by far) the greatest fans of the skinny cult, it often causes the exact opposite effect with men; who are naturally attracted to more curvy and round female figures. You see, full-figured women tend to appear more feminine (and thus less threatening) to men, so they choose them.
It’s completely understandable for a skinny woman to want to gain weight to be more popular with men. Chances are, if you are already in a relationship, you partner might occasionally comment on your bony figure, suggesting (subtly, or not so subtly) how better you’d look with a few more pounds on.
Getting to your ideal weight
You should know that even as men might reject you in view of your naturally slender body and women will traditionally bash you for being too skinny, you shouldn’t lose sight of what’s logical and what matters, i.e. accept your body the way it is.
Nobody says it’s easy, but unless you try to self-boost your confidence, no one is going to do it for you. This is the most crucial step in becoming a curvier, healthier you!
Secondly, it is vital that you gain weight for the right reasons, whilst it’s ok to want to be curvier to be more attractive, it is more effective if your weight gain goals are fueled by a wish to be healthier.
Turning up the scales
Once you give you self-esteem a little boost, it’s time to get practical. First, you need to gradually increase your calorie intake at least by 15% and up to 20%.
Great news. You are free to eat calorie-laden foods and beverages to stock up on carbohydrates (lucky you!). No need to be concerned over low-fat diary and desserts, that is!
Concurrently, you could also take up a sport, or engage in mid-level physical activities. Yes, this might seem counterproductive, but in fact it helps you gain weight as you build muscle and increase your appetite.
If still not much improvement has been noted, don’t give up, it takes time (and incredible amounts of patience and perseverance)! If you cannot gain weight— at least as much as you desire, think of all those women silently and genuinely jealous of your lean figure (myself included)!
